Hello! I'm Claire, the founding editor of Explore Reading. I'm a Reading native and former digital director of Time Out Shanghai. I founded Explore Reading so no one can say, ‘there’s nothing to do in Reading’, again. When not editing Explore Reading, I'm probably drinking a Manhattan.
Ellie Rapley moved to Reading as a student many moons ago and hasn't wanted to leave since. She's on the committee of Katesgrove Community Association, loves cycling (mostly around the pubs of the Ale Trail) and eating all the food.
Explore Reading is your independent guide to the best of Reading. We were founded so no one can say, 'there's nothing to do in Reading', again.
James Moore is Explore Reading's resident pub reviewer. He samples the best pubs in Reading to bring you a new review every month. A beer expert and active within Reading & Mid-Berkshire CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale), James also runs '1001 Beers to Try Before You Die' - one of YouTube's most fun beer review channels.
Matt Dyson is freelance writer. He previously wrote for a number of national music magazines that were quite important in the age of paper, including NME, Artrocker and Dazed & Confused. He currently lives in Caversham and is a member of the band Kill Committee.
Hi, I’m Sophie, and I write for Explore Reading. I’ve lived in Reading for most of my life, and love seeing what’s new and fun to get up to in our town. I spend most of my time reading and drinking coffee.
Steve Reynolds is a Reading-based promoter and DJ. He's the founder of Darklands, Reading's indie alternative club night and has co-organised the DoubleDotBash music festival for the last couple of years.
I love to write about the bands I'm listening to, and the gigs that I'm attending in Reading. I'm a proud champion of the local Reading music scene, and am always looking for new acts to see live. Aside from writing about local music, I am also the co-founder of Reading based record label, Porterbrook Records.
